UAE celebrates National Day UAE National Day marks the anniversary of the formation of the United Arab Emirates by the various emirates. Hundreds of thousands of expatriates along with the UAE people are making the 51st National Day colorful. A four-day holiday has been announced in the country as part of the day celebrations

On December 2, 1971, the United Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Khuwain and Fujairah was formed under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed, the Father of the UAE. The following year, the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah also became a part of the UAE. With the strength of the petrodollar, this country has crossed new horizons of development and is today one of the developed countries that has strengthened its presence even in the field of space.

The UAE is celebrating the National Day this time while preparing for the launch of the Rashid rover, the first lunar mission. This year also has the distinction of being the first National Day after the inauguration of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President after the demise of Sheikh Khalifa. On the occasion of the National Day, colorful programs are going on all over the country.

Hundreds of expatriates participated in the mass rally led by Markus in Dubai Mutina. Institutions shared the joy by serving sweets at the workers’ residences. At night, colorful fireworks are also arranged at many centers.
