Ukraine has attacked several sites in Russia and the illegally annexed Crimean Peninsula with drones and missiles, DPA reported, citing the RBC-Ukraine news agency.
According to RBC-Ukraine, one of the targets of the drones was an aircraft factory in Kazan, where Tupolev 22M and 160M strategic bombers are assembled and repaired. The plant is located nearly 1000 km from the territories controlled by Ukraine.
Several explosions were reported near the plant. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted over the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to Ukrainian media, another attack targeted a radar station near the town of Kovilkino in the Republic of Mordovia, about 600 km from the border with Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry says the drone attack has been repulsed.
Local sources report that they heard explosions early this morning at the military airport near Dzhankoy on the Crimean Peninsula, BTA writes.
According to Ukrainian sources, two ATACMS missiles fell to the ground. Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, including radar equipment and several launchers, were said to have been destroyed. According to Ukrainian information, several Russian soldiers were killed or wounded.
