Ukraine launched its own satellite into space for the first time in 10 years

The Ukrainian satellite Sich-2-30 was launched into space from Cape Canaveral in Florida. This event was watched live by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who noted that the country had entered a new phase of the space program.

As specified, the launched device is a modified version of the Sich-2 satellite. It was launched into orbit by an American Falcon 9 rocket manufactured by SpaceX. The last time Ukraine launched a satellite was more than ten years ago.

With the help of this spacecraft, it is possible to obtain digital images of the surface of our planet, which can be used in land use, agriculture, forestry, and cartography.

A total of 8 such satellites should be launched, they will be manufactured as part of a strategic program that must be approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
