Ukrainian President Russia and Ukraine“>Volodymyr Zelensky said in a televised interview broadcast today that his country could run out of anti-aircraft missiles if Russia continues its attacks with the same intensity, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
“If they continue to attack (Ukraine) every day as they have been doing for the last month, we may run out of our stockpile of missiles, and our partners know it,” the Ukrainian leader said. He added that Ukraine does not have enough artillery shells to launch a counteroffensive.
Zelensky said Ukraine now has enough stocks of defensive weapons to be able to choose what to defend, but needs 25 Patriot systems to fully cover the country’s territory.
The Ukrainian president expressed confidence that the US Congress will vote on the military aid package for Ukraine and added that Kiev will agree to any option, even if the aid comes in the form of a loan.
Zelensky pointed out that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Moscow is preparing a new mobilization of another 300,000 soldiers on June 1 and warned that the training period of those mobilized in Russia is very short.
The Ukrainian president also commented on the idea of his French colleague Emmanuel Macron to send French soldiers to Ukraine, reports the UNIAN agency. According to Zelensky, if these soldiers train Ukrainian fighters in Ukraine, it will be much faster than sending Ukrainian servicemen for training abroad.
