The Global Development Center has warned that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could push more than 4 million people into extreme poverty through rising food and energy prices.
According to the report, inflation is expected to be higher than in 2007 and 2010.
Ukraine and Russia’s wheat exports account for more than a quarter of world wheat exports, and food prices are expected to rise as importing countries compete for alternatives, according to the Global Development Center.
