The Ukrainian Defense Forces will be able to stabilize the front lines in the coming months against the background of the ongoing Russian offensive, the Institute for the Study of War announced, reports Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.

“Ukraine is very likely to stabilize the front lines in the coming months and may be able to launch limited counteroffensive operations in late 2024 or early 2025,” the report said.

According to IIV analysts, Russian forces still suffer from widespread tactical failures, and Ukrainian forces will still be able to take advantage of these failures, while the Russian military command continues to have problems with adaptations at the tactical level.

“Ukraine will be able to neutralize many of the material constraints it currently faces in the coming weeks and take steps to ease its manpower challenges in the coming months, but Russia will continue to use its own advantages while Ukrainian capabilities improve,” the report states.

IIV analysts believe that well-equipped Ukrainian forces are likely to be able to operationally prevent significant Russian advances during Russia’s expected attempted summer offensive.

“However, Russian forces will use selected advantages and adaptation to the situation to pose a significant threat to Ukraine this summer,” the Institute for the Study of War concluded.
