Singer Loboda was criticized at home because of plans to perform in Kyiv “in Russian”
Ukrainian singer Svetlana Loboda, who left Russia after the start of the special operation, announced plans to hold a charity concert in Kyiv, which outraged the local public.
According to the Ukrainian media, Loboda began to receive angry comments on social networks from compatriots who did not appreciate her impulse. The reason for the dissatisfaction was that the artist was supposedly going to perform her old hits in Russian.
“Sveta, go to Russia, it was so good there”, “I went (obscenely) from Ukraine! We will never forget what you said in 2014”, “Get out!”, “Home, Sveta, to Muscovy” – they say comments on the singer’s blog.
The discussion was joined by those who tried to stand up for the artist, recalling her civic position over the past year. However, the critics were not convinced by the arguments, they considered that Loboda’s lawyers were just bots. The third side of the discussion was the Russians, for their part criticizing the singer for “betrayal”: “Russia doesn’t need her, leave it to yourself,” “And she managed it there, and then they didn’t accept it. No luck.”
Loboda has not yet commented on the wave of criticism and has not announced its intention to make any changes to the concert schedule. It should be noted that the published concert posters are printed in Ukrainian, there is no evidence that the artist was going to sing in Russian.
