On the 16th day of the war against Ukraine, Russian troops continue to strike at settlements in many regions of the neighboring country and do not stop trying to capture them. The Ukrainian army and territorial defense detachments are putting up stubborn resistance and claiming significant losses of Russians among personnel and military equipment. Under the conditions of hostilities, the statements of representatives of the armed forces of both sides of the conflict cannot be verified from independent sources. Interpol will not exclude Russia from the organization

International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) will not exclude Russia from its ranks. However, the organization will introduce a new scheme for considering Russian requests – they will not go directly to member states, but will go through the Interpol General Secretariat to check for compliance with the rules of the organization.

Vladimir Klichko, brother of the Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko, said that German citizens donated over 100 million euros in support of Ukraine. “I am very happy, but not surprised, because the German people have a big heart,” Klitschko said.

Since the Russian military invasion in Ukraine, 549 civilians have been killed and another 957 injured. Such data leads Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Thus, 123 deaths were recorded in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including 24 in the territories of the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR”. In other regions of Ukraine (Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Sumy, Zaporozhye and Zhytomyr regions), which are under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, 426 people died. In most cases, deaths were caused by shelling from heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, as well as rocket and air strikes, the department noted. OHCHR believes that the actual number of victims is even higher.
