Manchester United were surprised by Galatasaray after being defeated 3-2 this Tuesday (3), at Old Trafford, in the second round of the Champions League group stage.

After losing in their debut to Bayern Munich (4-3), the ‘Red Devils’ were ahead on the scoreboard on two occasions, with two goals from young Dane Rasmus Hojlund (17′ and 67′), but in the end they experienced a game to forget: Wilfried Zaha (23′), Kerem Akturkoglu (71′) and Mauro Icardi (81′) scored for the Turkish team.

Shortly before Icardi’s goal, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro committed a penalty (which the Argentine striker wasted) and was sent off.

Dutch coach Erik ten Hag’s team, 10th in the English Championship, is bottom of Group A of the Champions League, without scoring in the first two games.

The leader is Bayern Munich (6 points), followed by Galatasaray (4 points). Both face each other in the next round, in Istanbul, and whoever wins advances to the round of 16.

“It’s a big disappointment. The dressing room was silent. I don’t think it’s a problem of confidence, more of a lack of success, bad decisions at key moments and a bit of bad luck,” said United midfielder Christian Eriksen.
