In the opinion of Susana García Espinel, the director of Santander Universities and Universia Spain, “At a time when unemployment rates for people under 25 years of age are 28.4%, at Universia we focus on connecting young talent with companies, and accompany them in their transition to the world of work. Our close relationship with the business fabric and with Spanish universities allows Universia to be the perfect ally for promoting young talent”.

Of the more than 6,700 job offers registered in 2022 by Universia, promoted by Banco Santander, the greatest job opportunities were registered in the software industry, followed by the field of engineering, and the health sector.

For its part, the financial and teaching sectors also presented special relevance in the set of positions offered, while the administrative and auditing fields showed the fewest number of opportunities. Likewise, it should be noted that the highest supply peaks occurred in the months of May, June and October.

In the first half of 2023, there has been an increase in the number of offers available on universia.net in Spain, with an advance of 27% compared to the same period in 2022. The sectors with the most offers are the same as in the past year, with an additional increase in offers in the field of engineering, whose percentage reaches up to 26.4% of the total available positions at Universia Spain.

Apart from the employability opportunities managed by Universia, Santander Bank offers young students and professionals ‘Smart Talent Scanner’, a digital tool developed and available at Santander SmartBank, the youth bank of the entity chaired by Ana Botinwhich has established itself as a leading employment advisor registering thousands of inquiries per month.

In detail, the web-app has a vocational guidance test created by experts in Human Resources and talent recruitment, based on psychometrics, and which provides in minutes a detailed report on the main affinities of the user, with five professional areas in the digital field, a skills map, and a list of professions that fit your profile.

Banco Santander’s ‘Smart Talent Scanner’ tool also offers a detailed description of each profession, the necessary skills and knowledge, the general functions carried out in it, and a list of schools and centers where the interested party can train in that specialty. .
