The Attorney General’s Office has initiated a disciplinary investigation against Francisco Torres Luna, agent of the National Protection Unit (UNP), for alleged irregularities in the use of vehicles assigned to his charge in the entity.

According to the complaints received, Torres Luna would have used UNP vehicles to offer tourist tours in Bogotá and its surroundings.

Apparently, the official charged approximately between $200,000 and $250,000 for the tours, which included tours of the Sábana de Bogotá and visits to nearby municipalities such as Guadalupe, La Calera, Choachí, Zipaquirá and Cajicá. According to information obtained, some of the tourists served on these tours would be Brazilian and Mexican nationals.

Francisco Torres Luna, who is part of the Risk Analysis Technical Corps in the Risk Assessment Subdirectorate of the UNP, It supposedly justified the use of the vehicles and fuel as part of the entity’s activities.

The Attorney General’s Office has indicated that these actions could constitute a serious offense disciplinary, by using public resources for personal benefit and activities not related to the functions of the UNP.

The control entity has requested detailed information about the use records of the vehicles assigned to Francisco Torres Luna, as well as any documentation related to the tours offered by the official.

The Attorney General’s Office continues the investigation to clarify the facts and determine the corresponding disciplinary responsibilities in this case.
