At the end of 2022, Microsoft made it possible to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 for free, as long as your device is compatible and meets the upgrade requirements.
The upgrade process will be similar to the regular Windows 10 update, as Microsoft offers several ways to download Windows 11 manually, including: using the (Installation Assistant) application that allows you to download and install the system as an upgrade through the Windows Update section in Settings, or use ( Windows 11 Media Creation Tool that automates the process of creating a bootable USB installer drive, or downloading an installation ISO file.
And your computer must be running Windows 10, version 2004, or any later version if you want to upgrade for free through the (Windows Update) section in Settings. There are also some technical specifications that must be available on your computer, which are:
The computer must have a processor speed of 1 GHz or faster, and it must have dual cores or more. The processor architecture is 64-bit or a System on a Chip (SoC). The storage or disk drive in your computer is 64 GB or more, and your computer has 9 GB of free disk space to install Windows 11. The system firmware is UEFI able to secure boot.
It also requires that the Security Processor (TPM) version 2.0, the graphics card be compatible with DirectX 12 or later, and the computer screen must be larger than 9 inches and have a resolution of at least 720 pixels.
