Malayalam film Ayesha was recognized at the 4th Cinemana International Film Festival. In the competition category, the award went to M Jayachandran for the background score of the film, which he composed at the festival. The jury noted that Ayesha’s background score was an unusual blend of Arab-Indian music.

This award also has the distinction of being recognized in an Arab festival for a film made in an Indo-Arabic setting. Syed Ibrahim Bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandham Governorate Province, presented the award at the closing ceremony of the fair held at Musandham Island.

Nilambur, written and directed by Aamir Pallikal with Manjuwarya as the central character, is based on Ayesha’s Saudi life. Produced by Zakaria of Cross Border Camera, the film is co-produced by Feathertech, Imagine Cinemas, Last Exit and Movie Bucket with Shasuddeen MT, Harris Desam, Anish PB, Zakaria Vavad and Bineesh Chandran. ‘Ayesha’ hit the theaters on January 20 and continues to be a success with a great response from the audience.
