by time news

Revolution in South Korea: After counting 95% of the votes, the President of South Korea, who was elected today (Wednesday), is the Conservative candidate in the opposition, Ion Suk-Yul. This is after he defeated the Democratic candidate, Li Jia-myung, by a narrow majority of 48.59% compared to 47.8%. Ion: “An important victory, I will work with all parties.”

Lee admitted defeat and congratulated his opponent: “I did my best, but unfortunately it did not work out. I call on the president-elect to overcome divisions and conflicts and open an era of integration and unity.”

About 77 percent of South Korea’s 44 million eligible voters exercised their right. The controversies that the citizens had to resolve are the corona wave sweeping the country, the rise in housing prices, and continued negotiations to curb the nuclear ambitions of the neighbor to the north.
