Every time there are more and better uses for ChatGPT. One of them allows us to use the artificial intelligence of the OpenAI tool to create an attractive and accurate curriculum vitae (CV). Thus, in addition to personal data, personal presentation, academic training, work experience, skills and complementary training, it is necessary for applicants to include relevant information for employment.
For example, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) recommends that we adapt our curriculum vitae to the job offered, highlighting experiences, skills, knowledge and competencies more related to the vacancies offered.
To do this, we can ask the ChatGPT artificial intelligence platform what skills are required for a certain position and, from the list displayed, select those with which we identify. Likewise, we can ask the AI to provide us with alternatives for the structure of the CV and its content.
Another option is to provide ChatGPT with the characteristics and abilities that we possess so that, based on them, the AI creates a personalized and attractive CV (mainly an impressive presentation or summary). Even if we have trouble finding the right words, we can ask the tool to give us suggestions to include in our resume.
All this information must be captured in a template. Software such as Microsoft Word, Canva or Adobe offer thousands of alternatives, or we can even develop our own if we consider it appropriate.
Being concise: the cornerstone of CVs
According to the MTPE, one of the most valued qualities of a good CV is brevity. To avoid falling into inaccuracies and vagueness, we can ask ChatGPT to write a specific number of lines describing, in formal language, our strengths (proactive, responsible, meticulous, etc.), previously indicated.
On the other hand, the structure is also important. So if we ask the AI to recommend the right structure for a certain job offer, we can get better results.
Obviously, all suggestions provided by ChatGPT must be carefully analyzed and corrected, if necessary, by the applicant. To do this, we have to use a word processor (Word, WordPad, Pages, etc.) and, once completed, export the product in PDF (preferably).
Finally, photography is optional. However, if you want to include it, it must give added value. It has to be neat, updated and with appropriate clothing, according to the MTPE.
