Bulls Dominate Rice, Secure Fourth Undefeated Home Season in Program History

South Florida (9-3, 6-2 American) delivered a resounding 52-3 victory over Rice (5-7, 2-6) on Senior Night at Raymond James Stadium on November 29, 2025, capping off an historic undefeated home season. The Bulls’ dominant performance, fueled by a stellar outing from quarterback Burum Brown, marked the program’s fourth undefeated season at home and the first since 2002.

The victory also secured the Bulls’ sixth nine-win season in program history and a sixth conference win, achieved for only the fourth time. Prior to the game, South Florida honored its 30 seniors, many of whom retain eligibility and could return for future seasons.

Burum Brown’s Record-Breaking Performance

Quarterback Burum brown, among those honored, continued his extraordinary campaign, solidifying his place among the program’s all-time greats. Brown became just the 12th player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to surpass both 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a single season. He finished the night with 275 passing yards and four touchdowns on 16-of-24 completions, adding 104 rushing yards and another touchdown.

“Brown is a special player,” a senior official stated. “His ability to impact the game both through the air and on the ground makes him incredibly difficult to defend.”

The performance allowed Brown to break his own single-season touchdown record, reaching 28, and achieve the 11th 1,000-yard rushing season and the third 4,000 total yard season in program history.

Singleton Shines, Defense Holds Strong

Complementing Brown’s performance, wide receiver Keshaun Singleton continued to be a reliable target, hauling in seven receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulls’ defense was equally remarkable, limiting Rice to just three points and forcing three turnovers. Linebacker Jalen Johnson led the defensive charge with 10 tackles and an interception.

The Bulls’ offensive onslaught began early, with Brown connecting with Singleton for a 45-yard touchdown on the opening drive. South Florida continued to pour it on, scoring touchdowns on five of their first six possessions. Late in the game, with the outcome already decided,a moment of celebration occurred when Gaston Moore, filling in for Brown at quarterback, connected with former walk-on Christian Helms for a three-yard touchdown pass – the first career catch for the senior in his final game.

Key Stats and looking Ahead

Key statistics highlighted the Bulls’ dominance:

  • South Florida opened the game with a 28-point scoring streak, marking their eighth such streak of 26 points or more this season.
