Nine years after their first adventures, here is Joy again and her friends emotions, Anger, Fear, Disgust and Sadness. But not only. Disney Pixar Studios unveiled this Thursday the trailer for the film “Vice-versa 2” which is scheduled for release in June 2024.
In this extract, we find the elements that had been revealed concerning the plot: Riley, a 10-year-old girl in the first part, will now face adolescence. A construction site in the truest sense of the term, as the first images show. And with this change in size, a new set of emotions for the 13-year-old girl. Among them: Anxiety, an orange character who does not hesitate to redecorate the places in her human’s brain.
A highly anticipated sequel
Other emotions will also join Riley’s brain, but their names have not yet been revealed. One thing is certain, they want to “make a good impression!” », promises Anxiety in the trailer. Kelsey Mann, an animator on several studio films, is the director. On the VO side, Amy Poehler is back in the voice cast to play Joy, while Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote the original film with Pete Docter and Josh Cooley, will return to write the screenplay.
Pierre Niney notably dubbed the character of Peur in the French version. The trailer makes it unclear whether he will be back to play the little purple guy. On the other hand, Charlotte Le Bon does not seem to be behind the voice of Joie this time, according to these first images.
The first part of the saga, released in 2015, was presented at the Cannes Film Festival before its release in cinemas. It met with great success, in France and abroad, winning the Oscar for best animated film in 2016. The film attracted 4.3 million spectators in theaters in France and generated more than 700 million revenue dollars. Pixar studios announced in September 2022 that a sequel would see the light of day in the following months.
