Vicky Pattison Overcome with Emotion After ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Triumph
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star reportedly broke down in tears after achieving a near-perfect score on the latest episode of the BBC’s ‘strictly Come Dancing.’
Vicky Pattison, 37, experienced a wave of emotion following her impressive performance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last weekend. the television personality and her professional partner, Kai Widdrington, earned a score of 39 for their Tango to Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” propelling them to the top of the leaderboard.
Pattison, who previously won “I’m A Celebrity…get Me Out Of Here!” and appeared on “Loose Women,” revealed the depth of her reaction during an appearance on the ‘Strictly’ spin-off show, “It Takes Two,” hosted by Fleur East. According to reports,she confessed to being “bursting into tears” on Sunday,overwhelmed by the positive reception.
“On social media,someone said ‘I fear Vicky Pattison might chuck herself off that balcony if she ever gets a 40!’ and I fear they are right,” Pattison reportedly shared. “For someone like me who had never danced before and was so scared at the start of the process,even now who still has wobbles,that’s a moment I never thought would be mine. I’m still feeling very overwhelmed.”
As a gesture of congratulations, Pattison received a framed picture of the leaderboard and a cushion featuring judge anton dubeke holding up a 10 paddle. “I am going straight home to bed with this!” she joked.
Beyond the competition, Pattison expressed optimism about forging lasting friendships with her fellow contestants. She highlighted the supportive atmosphere among the celebrities,noting the impact of recent cast changes. “For me, all the celebs are absolutely gorgeous. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be doing Strictly this year as everyone is so lovely,” she said. “When we lost Dani Dyer originally,it was so devastating and heart-breaking. But then we got the gorgeous Amber,and we’ve got by Bal,La Voix,Caz Carney. I just feel so lucky and I hope we’re gonna be friends forever.” She drew parallels to her enduring friendships with co-stars from previous reality shows, such as Ferne McCann, whom she met on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!” a decade ago.
The judges were effusive in their praise of Pattison and Widdrington’s performance. Craig Revel Horwood described the dance as “perfect,” while Anton DuBeke admitted he was “a bit stunned” by its quality, calling the line “the best line I’ve ever seen.” Motsi Mabuse and head judge Shirley Ballas jointly declared it the “dance of the night.” According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, Mabuse stated, “Last week I said you were a contender for the final, and this dance just proved what I meant.You confirmed my intuition. Without a doubt, you are on fire.”
Following the broadcast, Pattison shared her disbelief on Instagram, posting a picture of the leaderboard with the caption, “This can not be real.” Saturday’s episode represented the halfway point of the current ‘Strictly come Dancing’ series, featuring nine remaining couples.
