Mourning in South American football. The former coach of Barcelona Sporting Club and Macará, Víctor Luna, died on January 28, 2024, at the age of 64.

The rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm was the cause of his death.

Moon as a footballer became champion with América de Cali and Atlético Nacional, two of the most important clubs in Colombian football. On the field he played as a winger or defensive midfielder.

As a coach, he became champion with Independiente Medellín in 2002. After 45 years of title drought and qualifying for the 2003 Copa Libertadores, in which he settled in the semi-final phase.

After a year of that event he came to Ecuadorian football to be part of Barcelona SC, where the results did not accompany him. In 2006, the Colombian returned to Ecuador to direct Macará de Ambato.

The last time he was seen in Colombian football was in 2020, when he was part of the Junior de Barranquilla coaching staff, as an assistant Luis Amaranto Perea, today technical assistant of Néstor Lorenzo’s Colombian National Team.
