Most of the people buy iPhone because of the reliability and high quality of Apple products. But a video is now going viral that questions that belief. In it, a woman claims her iPhone 15 charger caught fire while charging it overnight.
In the video, the victim also shows a melted charger in the suit. The complainant, Jasmine Ahluwalia, also claimed that the hot charger had burnt her hand. He says that while he was sleeping, he smelled something burning and luckily saw the charger in time to avoid a major accident.
Jasmine Ahluwalia’s video has been viewed by more than one lakh netizens so far. Jasmin posted the video on Instagram and said, “I used my iPhone while it was charging. Suddenly the cable started burning. That’s when I could feel the damage.”
He also advised, “Don’t charge your phone while sleeping. It can lead to a very dangerous situation. Apple should re-test its new phones before selling them.”
An Instagram user who replied to the post said, “Someone buying iPhone 15 would never take such a risk to save 1500 rupees… Both the charger and the wire are original… You should look for the nearest Apple store and ask them for a replacement cable. The mobile should also be checked,” he advised.
Many doubted Ahluwalia’s complaint against Apple. They posted that he might be using a fake charger. “Cable local, adapter redmi…no iPhone 15…stop misleading the viewers,” one user noted.
Others have backed up Jasmine’s claim that they have had similar experiences. “Same thing happened to my iPhone 11 charger. I had bought a new cable at the Apple store,” he said. Another person said, “Same thing happened to me. I am confused whether my mobile is original or fake,” he said.
This isn’t the first time an iPhone charger has caught fire. Earlier in January, there were reports of an iPhone charger catching fire in Ohio. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished at a small scale.
