Trio Nilo presents their first album “Planeta desierto”. The group, formed by the guitarist Ernest Pipó (Girona, 1995), the bassist Tomàs Pujol (Banyoles, 1995) and the drummer Kike Pérez (Barcelona, 1993), has compositions by the three members of the group created during the summer of 2020. The album was recorded in November of the same year at Estudis Groundper Jaume Figueres, and mixed and mastered in January 2021 by Ferran Conangla. This Saturday, Trio Nilo presents its work at the FEM Jazz Music Emergency Festival in Banyoles
The members of Trio Nilo explain that they are looking for a sound identity and a style of their own, always with a point of anchor in jazz and tradition, which uses its own compositions as the basis of a discourse that gives rise to improvisation. . With an electric trio sound, this record tries to be as direct acoustic as possible, dispensing in most cases with excessive post-production. “The result of these intentions culminates in a sincere and bold interpretation,” the group members point out.
