Cholavanthan-Chellampatti union Vikramangalam bus stand lacks basic facilities and passengers are suffering.
Vikramangalam is the center of more than 30 villages around this town. Although there is sufficient space here, there is no basic facility like free toilet, passenger shelter, milking room for children. Women, old people and students traveling from here face difficulties.
Panchayat Secretary Balpandi said:
We have passed a resolution in the village council to expand the bus stand. We are going to start the work after getting the project report with commercial premises and toilet facilities. He said that many people have occupied the shop here, so the bus stand has lost its luster.
VAO, Muthumani said, “The bus stand is in the nearby village. The total area of Oruni is 4.32 acres. At present, due to encroachment, Oruni is less than one acre. Many residences, including government buildings, are located in this water body,” he said.
