This is the little bad news of the day for Vinted regulars. The second-hand clothing sales application no longer accepts payments via PayPal since Thursday. “Unfortunately, we no longer support payments via PayPal. We invite you to use one of our other payment methods to pay for your order”, simply indicates the sales platform, without specifying the reasons for this choice.

Buyers and sellers will therefore no longer be able to go through the payment application to pay for their purchases or receive the fruits of their sales. However, PayPal had many advantages, such as being able to pay in four instalments, and therefore to protect against certain scams. And Internet users have understood this. “It’s going to be even worse scam level” dreads one of them. “It’s Vinted’s worst decision,” says another, who plans to “uninstall the app right away.”

PayPal also made it possible to alert on disputes when Vinted did not support certain payment scams. “PayPal offered the protection that Vinted did not, it will be ciao for me”, explains a user on Twitter. Another criticism on the subject: Vinted proposes to replace PayPal with Apple Pay, which Android users do not have access to.

The second-hand clothing sales platform therefore now offers its users to “continue to pay without interruption” to use Apple Pay or enter their credit card. It could not be easier. You have to go to your profile settings, in the payments section then “Add a card”.
