Despite Virat Kohli’s 82, it was Ashwin’s smart finish that ultimately gave India victory. Also, the way Ashwin approached the spin with great patience in the tense situation of 2 runs in 1 ball in the pressure-packed India-Pakistan match was praised by many.
In this case, Virat Kohli has also showered his fame on Ashwin. Virat Kohli said, “I told Ashwin to hit the ball over the cover direction. But he used his brain as extra. It was a very smart decision. The ball came in on the line and went wide.”
Virat Kohli scored 82 runs off 53 balls. It may be recalled that he considered that innings as his best performance of his life.
