The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, congratulated the Russian Army this Saturday for the conquest of the Avdivka bastion, in eastern Ukraine, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The capture of the city, where fighting has not stopped since last October, was communicated to the head of the Kremlin by the head of Defense, Sergei Shoigu.“The Minister of Defense, General Sergei Shoigu, today in the Kremlin informed the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces about the seizure of full control (…) of the city of Avdivka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” says the official note. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the actions of his country’s troops on the front are only limited by the lack of ammunition and long-range missiles from the West, allowing Russia to adapt to the situation on the battlefield.
