“Due to the current situation, production in Kaluga has been suspended for an indefinite period,” TASS was told at the company’s unified information center.

The Volkswagen Group Rus plant in Kaluga produces Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Polo and KODA RAPID models. Its production capacity is 225 thousand cars per year. The company also produces 1.6 MPI gasoline engines of the EA211 series.

The press service of Volkswagen assures that the production in Kaluga is working “as usual”. “We are closely monitoring developments and assessing the impact of the situation on our business. The Volkswagen concern has taken note of the news about the situation in Ukraine with great concern and concern and hopes for a speedy cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomacy,” the concern added.
