When he had a video surveillance system installed, perhaps two years ago, at the entrance to his house, Volodymyr Doskar did not imagine one day becoming some sort of local hero. And then, on Wednesday March 2, the camera captured his impromptu meeting with two Russian soldiers in a suburb of Voznessensk. In the image, we see the rough sexagenarian rejecting unwelcome visitors. “They wanted me to go out in the street putting their hands on my head and didn’t hesitate to shoot in the air to impress me, says the pensioner in clogs, still amused by his audacity. But I told them to go fuck themselves by pushing them out.” The video, which he was happy to make public, immediately went viral.
