Bnei Sakhnin’s youth team, which finds itself in a delicate situation at the bottom of the Premier League table, made a significant change in the professional team this evening, appointing Salah Hassarma as Ayman Abu Yunis’ replacement coach, who will henceforth focus on the professional director of Bnei Sakhnin’s youth department. Abu Yunis has led in recent seasons to great success the youth team, which under his leadership has promoted many players to the club’s senior team.

Sakhnin’s youth team is ranked below the red line and is 3 points away from the leading place at the end of the season for the test matches for staying in the Premier League and 6 points from Mivtachim Beach. Last Saturday, the team was very close to being relegated from the cup games, but a dramatic goal by Hadi Rabah in the last attack of the game against Hapoel Herzliya from Leumit North, set a 1: 1 tie, forced overtime and led Sakhnin to a 3: 4 victory on penalties.

Salah Hasarma actually closes a circle in Sakhnin. In the past, he played for the club’s senior team for three consecutive seasons in the national league (today’s A League) and the national league. Later he returned for one season in the team uniform also in the Premier League. Hasarma began his coaching career in the youth team of Kiryat Shmona, after finishing a successful season of 7 seasons as a key player in the senior team with which he won a historic championship. After two seasons in the Kiryat Shmona youth team, which ended with a qualification for the state cup final, Hasarma was promoted to the senior team, but was fired from it towards the end of the regular league. He later coached for three years in Israel’s youth teams and at the same time established the youth department of Tze’irei Ba’ana, which represents his village of residence. During last season he was appointed coach of the senior team of MS Kfar Qassem, but ended his role after a short period.
