Walmart’s International Sales and Sourcing in India: Procurement from Small and Micro Enterprises

Bengaluru: American company Walmart has international sales. It procures products from small and micro enterprises all over India and sells them internationally.

Andrea Albright, executive vice president of Walmart, has said that it has received goods worth 30 billion dollars (Rs. 2.5 lakh crore) from India in the last 20 years. He further said, “We are paying extra attention in India. India is a high growth market. There are many small and micro distributors here. We source products from them and sell them internationally.

We are taking initiatives to modernize and expand small and micro enterprises in India according to the current environment. Depending on the distribution we provide training to the distributors here. So far we have trained 50 thousand distributors. From 2027 onwards, we have set a target to procure goods from India worth 10 billion dollars (Rs 83,000 crore) every year,” he said.
