Pope Francis invites the faithful of the various Christian confessions and other religions to participate on Friday, October 27, in a day of fasting, prayer and penance for peace in the Holy Land, where a war pits Israel against the Palestinian terrorist group. Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip.
At the end of the General Audience this Wednesday, October 18, the Holy Father expressed his closeness to those who suffer the consequences of the war in Israel and Palestine, “where the victims are increasing and the situation in Gaza is desperate.”
The Pontiff urged to do “everything possible to avoid a human catastrophe” and reiterated that “the possible expansion of the conflict is worrying, while there are already so many open war fronts in the world.”
