12,500 had made the trip to the stadium in the wooden town to witness what became a public celebration for the red-clad hosts.

However, it looked like Franklin Tebo was going to put an end to that for a long time when he scored the 2-1 goal with 16 minutes left on the clock. Two minutes into overtime, however, Henrik Kjelsrud Johansen appeared and saved a draw for the hosts.

The whole stadium cheered for 3-2 well into overtime, but Maï Traoré’s brilliant chip was waved off for offside.

It was nevertheless a duel where Morten Bjørlo went down that stole TV 2 expert Yaw Amankwah’s focus.

– The fact that Jeppe Andersen is not given a red there, I know makes me angry. With VAR and everything, do you have to sit and watch a player take off and elbow an opponent straight down without giving a red??? he signs X and continues:

After some help, Bjørlo got back on his feet, but had to be helped off the pitch.

– I saw the way he fell and lay – that he looked unconscious. He’s staggering off here, Langli said.

After the end of the match, FFK coach Mikkkjal Thomassen could say that they do not know how the player is doing.

– I simply do not know. It was quite violent, but I hope it goes well. I have no chance to say anything if it should have been a red card, he said.

However, the licensee could reveal that they had received confirmation that they are doing well with Bjørlo.

Dream start

Sarpsborg got off to a dream start to the match when Jo Inge Berget headed in a cross from Niklas Sandberg after just six minutes.

– It is simply an unbelievably beautiful post by Sandberg, commented Jesper Mathisen on TV 2.

Berget was also impressed by the post before scoring.

– It’s a giant egg. He has a huge foot, so then it was just a matter of standing in the right place, he told TV 2 during the break.

The score sent the royal blue away section at Fredrikstad Stadium into the sky.

However, the scenes of jubilation appeared to be short-lived as Traoré slotted in what he thought was an equalizer just a minute later. Unfortunately for the home supporters, the counterattack was waved off for offside.

Tebo on the head

Just before the break, the visitors had a sliver of joy when goalscorer Berget had to go off with an injury.

– I’ve struggled a bit with an injury, and then there was a duel where it nicked a bit, so then I know that there was nothing to play with and then it was better to be replaced, he told the franchise holder during the break.

After the break, the hosts came out at a terrific pace, and just five minutes into the half the teams were tied again after Sigurd Kvile knocked in the equaliser.

Unfortunately for the hosts, it didn’t quite last when Franklin Tebo headed in the winning goal from a corner from Stefan Johansen.
