Debate on constitutional amendment
There have been reports in some media that a constitutional amendment is being debated in the Jordanian parliament. One of the MPs then tried to block the proceedings by saying things that were against them in the House. Following this, the Speaker instructed him to leave and there was an uproar in Parliament. Although no one was seriously injured in the fight, some MPs were slightly injured.
It is noteworthy that the Constitution has been amended 29 times since the constitutional bodies came into force in Jordan in 1952.
