Time.news – “In the time frame of the Next Generation Eu there will be twenty or thirty elections. We cannot change our plans because we have elections but we are ready and open to discuss with all the governments that are arriving after the elections, including the one in Italy. “These are the words of the European Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, in a hearing in the Economic Affairs and Budget Committees of the European Parliament.
“We do not have special treatment for Italy with regards to Recovery. All the discussion we have had on the matter applies to all Member States, including Italy,” he explained. “We have article 21, with point 22, which explains what is possible to amend in the plans. This means that we are not starting from scratch, we are not re-discussing the whole NRP for each country”.
Good to be back with @EP_Budgets @EP_Economics to discuss progress with #RRF recovery plans.
High inflation, energy prices make it vital to:
➡️press ahead with RRF reforms and investments
➡️adopt #REPowerEU to reduce reliance on Russian fossil fuels https://t.co/NM6kICAoq4 pic.twitter.com/lJkrNgxNYS— Valdis Dombrovskis (@VDombrovskis) September 12, 2022
Shortly after came the words of the vice president of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, in response to a question about the possible modification of the Italian PNRR by the next government: “We expect the plan’s ambitions not to be diminished. Obviously the 37% climate action target must be addressed. From this point of view we do not expect to lower the level of ambition and it must be objective circumstances if a Member State fails to reach a certain target “.
