Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs at the National Memorial on the Great Independence Day.

On Tuesday (March 26) he signed the visitation book after paying respects at Savar National Memorial.

In the visitation book, the Prime Minister wrote, ‘Today, March 26, is the great independence and national day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Today, I remember with utmost respect the greatest Bengali of all time and the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He wrote, “I pay respect to the martyrs of Bangladesh’s freedom struggle and liberation war and to the mothers and sisters who were victimized by the Pakistani invading forces.”

In it, he also wrote, ‘With a deep painful and tired heart, I remember my mother Begum Fazilatun Necha and my three younger brothers Kamal, Jamal, Russell, who were martyred by the merciless bullets of the assassins on August 15, 1975.’

He also wrote, ‘On this great day today, we will make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous Sonar Bangla in the spirit of independence. Inshallah.’

Greeting the countrymen, the Prime Minister also wrote in the visit book at the memorial, ‘I wish all the people of Bangladesh a great Independence and National Day.’
