The statement added, “The meeting discussed a number of important topics and files regarding banking work, electronic payment, and protecting the privacy and money of customers whose salaries are deposited on Qi Card.”
He pointed out that “the meeting discussed the issue of dealing with unlicensed associations, installment sales operations, and receiving advances, and the emphasis on preventing any tampering in the sales process, verifying the information of the advance applicant, and protecting customers’ money from fraud.”
Al-Atwani confirmed, according to the statement, that “the committee received complaints supported by evidence about the existence of fraudulent deductions from the salaries of some retirees who hold Qi Cards.”
He continued, “An in-depth investigation will be conducted into this fraud, and we will not be lenient in holding anyone proven to be negligent accountable,” stressing the need to protect the rights and privacy of customers whose salaries are paid and provide them with the best services.
Al-Atwani warned of “systematic fraud operations carried out by informal associations to deduct sums from the salaries of employees and retirees who hold smart cards,” stressing the necessity of preparing the banking system for a total transition towards electronic payment, especially since one of the priorities of the government approach is digital transformation in financial transactions.
He stressed the need to reduce routine for the citizen as it affects his power, while encouraging the adoption of the electronic card.
