Chennai: Heavy rain is likely in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu today, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
A press release issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department said: Due to the upper atmospheric circulation over Tamil Nadu, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at many places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal today (Sunday). Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Madurai, Karur, Trichy, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Tirupattur districts are likely to experience heavy rain at one or two places.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal tomorrow (Monday). Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Thenkasi, Madurai, Karur, Trichy, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal on Tuesday. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Ranipet, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai and Kallakurichi districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places.
As for Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. A few parts of the city are expected to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
