ADMK MLA Selvaraj asked the question, ‘Am I crazy?’
Coimbatore District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting was held yesterday; MP, (M.Com.) Natarajan presided. Collector Krantikumar presided.
Mettupalayam MLA, (ADMK) Selvaraj said:
Karamadai Union PTO, Rajalakshmi does not come to work on time. To spend the block development fund, if the works are written down, study, appraisal is prepared and tender is not called.
3 crores rupees were not called for ‘tender’ for laying the road. Uses office vehicles for personal use. The officer has been given an ‘award’.
Could I have been called to question him? Regarding the action taken, why didn’t you tell me? What am I crazy? Is there any truth in my complaint? Thus, MLA Selvaraj, who was speaking, got up from his seat in a rage.
Collector Krantikumar said, “All the problems will be investigated and resolved.”
But MLA Selvaraj persisted and repeated that ‘Additional Collector Alarmelmangai should answer’. Sensing the tense situation, the MP announced that the remaining ‘subjects’ will be postponed to the next meeting.
Officers protest
Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department Officers Association has urged to take legal action against Mettupalayam Constituency MLA, (ADMK) Selvaraj.
The petition given by the association, Coimbatore District President Muthuraju and Secretary Masanam to Collector Kranthikumar:
Mettupalayam MLA Selvaraj spoke in a threatening tone at the meeting of the vigilance committee at the collector’s office.
He behaved rudely. Legal action should be taken against him and security should be guaranteed to all departmental employees.
Thus, it has been stated in it.
Following this, a demonstration was held in the collector’s office premises to condemn the MLA.
