After an award-winning first installment in 2015, Pixar announced that a sequel to the story of Riley and her five emotions will hit the screens this 2024, adding four new members to the team: anxiety, shame, hatred and envy.

Riley’s adventures in her early teens are expected to hit the big screen on June 14, 2024.

Precisely, the new and recent trailer for Inside Out 2, gives more clues about the impact of the arrival of Anxiety, Shame, Hate and Envy to a world in which they will coexist with Joy, Sadness, Rage, Fear and Disgust, at the head of the young woman

The new emotions of Inside Out 2

  • Maya Hawke voices Anxiety, the new emotion destined to shake up everything at headquarters and beyond. A bundle of exhausting energy, Anxiety enthusiastically makes sure Riley is prepared for any possible negative outcomes.
  • Envy, voiced in English by Ayo Edebiri, may be small, but she knows very well what she wants. She is always jealous of everything others have, and she is not afraid to pine for it.
  • Hate, voice of Adèle Exarchopoulos, couldn’t care less. Bored and sleepy, she’s well-practiced at eye-rolling, Ennui adds the perfect amount of teenage apathy to Riley’s personality, whenever she feels like it.
  • Shame, voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, likes to blend in, which isn’t easy for this big, rosy-skinned guy.

“The new installment is directly connected to the 2015 animated fiction, in which a button called Puberty is shown. Why was this moment chosen to continue the story? “This is a gold mine of everything we love at Pixar (…) It has heart. It has emotion. It has humor. Puberty is hilarious, but it’s also a difficult time in our lives. “I want to say something meaningful about us as humans, but told in an imaginative way,” Kelsey Mann explained in Empire Magazine.
