Thiruvananthapuram ∙ As the war between Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and the government intensified, the CPM called an emergency meeting of the state committee. The committee will meet on Sunday and Monday. Due to the unusual political situation, party general secretary Sitaram Yachury and senior PB member Prakash Karat are attending the leadership meetings.
The leadership believes that if the governor does not sign the bills, there will be a crisis. The party is concerned about the Lokayukta Amendment Bill. The party also alleges that the Sangh Parivar agenda is being carried out through the Governor.
The party’s assessment is that the governor is making harsh criticism because he has the support of the central government. The meeting will discuss how to counter these moves.
