Some love them, others hate them: WhatsApp voice messages. What many people probably don’t know: iOS users can already have voice messages converted into text with WhatsApp beta version 23.9.0.70.
Now this could soon also be possible for Android users.

As with Apple devices, the new function for Android will initially be available in the beta test program. WhatsApp is currently working on an update.
According to the WABetaInfo website, users need 150 megabytes of app data to transcribe a voice message. WhatsApp takes advantage of the device’s speech recognition and the transcription process takes place locally on the user’s cell phone.
