The Government presented the March Plan, which contemplates a series of measures to reinforce the use of public transport.

Two weeks before Super Monday, the Undersecretary of TransportationJorge Daza, led a meeting of coordination and planning in public transportation for the Metropolitan Region.

According to Jorge Daza, the multisectoral work that the ministry will promote consists of:

  • Strengthen Red Movilidad bus routes and frequencies
  • Increase the offer of Metro and EFE trains
  • Monitor critical congestion points
  • Program traffic lights
  • Greater inspection on the streets, especially segregated roads and school transportation

“Both Mobility Network and Metro and EFE will begin an increase in the regular offer from Monday, February 26, with special focus on Monday, March 4, when the entire fleet of buses and trains is fully operational,” said Daza.

“In the case of the EFE San Fernando – Central Station service, there will be a new round trip departure, going from 6 to 8 daily services from Monday, March 4”he added.
