The Pope’s voice softened as he began speaking of Ukraine at the prayer meeting. Immediately, a dazed Pope Francis stood speechless for 30 seconds.
The Pope, who began to speak after being greeted by those present, lamented that children, the elderly, and mothers are suffering so much in Ukraine. Pope Francis also said he is praying for the peace of the people of Ukraine.
