Jaunpur: Former MP Dhananjay Singh, lodged in Jaunpur District Jail of Uttar Pradesh, was suddenly shifted. On Saturday morning, Dhananjay Singh was removed from Jaunpur district jail and sent to Bareilly jail. The district administration is not ready to say anything in this matter. There was talk of Dhananjay’s removal for the past several days. He was taken to Bareilly jail in an ambulance amid tight security. It is being told that for the last few days, there was a continuous discussion at the administration level about shifting Dhananjay Singh from jail. His wife Srikala Reddy Singh is contesting from BSP from Jaunpur seat. It is noteworthy that Dhananjay has been punished in the case of kidnapping of STP project manager Abhinav Singhal under Namami Gange project.

Allahabad High Court has reserved its verdict on the appeal of former MP Dhananjay Singh filed against the seven-year sentence awarded by the MP/MLA Special Court, Jaunpur in the kidnapping case. Hearing was held in the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. During the earlier hearing, Dhananjay’s advocate had sought permission to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
In Jaunpur, BJP gave ticket to Kripashankar Singh. After that, on March 14, when Samajwadi Party gave ticket to Babu Singh Kushwaha, political movements intensified. The very next day, BSP surprised everyone and gave the ticket to Shrikala Dhananjay Singh. After Shrikala Singh got the ticket, the entire election became triangular.
