“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Candidate Niklas Kaeseler (48) told on Tuesday evening how he helped the football idol’s fluffy family member out of trouble. A story with happy end.

Kaeseler was playing in issue two of Jauch’s “3 Million Week” when the moderator talked about his heroic deed. Although the campaign was twelve years ago, the high school teacher can still remember it very well. It happened at Christmas time. Kaeseler reports: “We were driving to a colleague for Advent coffee in Cologne, which was already getting dark, and a little Labrador wandered across the expressway.”

The 48-year-old and his companion stopped, caught the animal and put it in the trunk. However, even after a long search, its owner could not be found. Jauch’s counterpart: “We drove to the neighboring residential area. But there was no one outside either. It was a really disgusting Sunday with sleet.”

So Kaeseler called the fire department. They said you could take the puppy to the animal shelter or the finders could keep it temporarily until the owner came forward. Kaeseler says: “We thought he was so cute. He was still relatively small and very playful. Then we took him with us.”

The next day his phone rang. On the line: Lukas Podolski’s wife, Monika. According to the advice fox, she called the Cologne fire department and got the finder’s number. So the story about the escaped four-legged friend finally had a happy ending. Kaeseler: “The next day she came to pick him up.”

On this occasion he also learned that the Labrador was Monika Podolski’s wedding anniversary gift for her Lukas. Candidate Günther Jauch continued: “She said that Lukas had brought in the Christmas tree. The garden gate would have been open and then he ran away.”
