Basil Joseph said that as a director he tried to make a good movie and the superhero element was the only factor that made it attractive. We grew up watching a lot of superhero movies. Most of them are from western countries. But we did not see a superhero in Indian culture. If we examine the culture and mythology of India, we can see many superheroes in them. But creating a superhero in an Indian context is a bit complicated. Because American superheroes have a huge influence on the audience. So the audience will have to create a superhero who can connect in some way. That is a kind of superhero character that can be seen in our visual environment! The superhero Minnal Murali is a continuation of such a thought. Our aim was to make a good film. Superhero is just one factor that makes that movie fascinating. Our goal was to make Minnal Murali a good film, even if it was a superhero, Basil Joseph explained.
Tovino Thomas said that the ODT platform has opened up endless possibilities for a small film industry like Malayalam. Tovino pointed out that while earlier theatrical releases were possible in 42 countries, OTD is now able to screen Malayalam films in more than 190 countries simultaneously.
