The Russian Ministry of Communications demands that Wikipedia remove the information about the war between it and Ukraine, if not, they will sue for several million rubles.
The office requires Wikipedia to remove Information about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the grounds that it was “incorrect information”. The purpose of the Russians is to continue to prevent the real information about what is happening in the war.
If Wikipedia does not respond positively to the Russians’ demand, the ministry threatens to sue for 4 million rubles.
The Wikimedia Foundation, the parent organization of Wikipedia in San Francisco, did not respond to Forbes magazine’s request, but said in a statement on March 3 that it “will not back down in the face of efforts to censor and intimidate our movement members.”
