Cleaning workers were cleaning the sewer this morning in the Upper Alangam area near Thanjavur. Then, they were shocked to see the baby boy, who was just a few hours old, lying dead with the umbilical cord. Western police were informed about this.
Tanjore West police immediately seized the child’s body and sent it to Tanjore Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Later, CCTV footage from the area showed a woman carrying the baby and throwing it into the sewer.
