PSG-Stade Reims, on the fourth day of the French Women’s First Division, had to be suspended for launching fireworks, on the field of play, which prevented the normal development of the match. Apparently the anomalous situation could have been caused by several neighbors near the stadium, although the police have not given an official version of what happened.
The match was being played at the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Poissy and was definitively suspended after the league’s Disciplinary Commission, meeting urgently, evaluated whether the soccer players could return to the field and whether the necessary measures were taken for the game to develop normally.

In the second, as soon as they returned from the locker room, a series of fireworks were launched onto the field of play and the players, in disbelief at the situation, immediately left the field. After the initial scare, the Reims players were willing to continue the match, while their rival advocated suspension.
The event occurred coinciding with the activation of the state of alert in France after a young man of Chechen origin murdered a teacher in Arras, in the north of the country, on Friday.
