In the coming weeks, work will begin on what will be the future Hospitality School of the Costa Brava, which will be located in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The center already has permission to start adapting the premises of the Casino Guixolenc-Espai Cambra Foundation, which will be the place where it will be located. The person in charge of directing the center will be the former delegate of the Generalitat in Girona Pere Vila, who had also directed the Escola d’Hostaleria de l’Alt Empordà. It is an initiative promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Sant Feliu and, in fact, the president of the Chamber Pere yach announced its future creation in the first plenary session on September 15. It is planned that training will be given in kitchen, service and pastry to a maximum of 90 students.
The study plan will be based on the courses of the Department of Business and Work and of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya with a focus on dual trainingwith the desire to be able to respond to the labor needs of companies on the Costa Brava. The person in charge of managing the new center will be the same Casino Guixolenc-Espai Cambra foundation, created by the Chamber of Commerce of Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the Casino Guixolenc Association.
It is expected that the school will have one pedagogical dining room open to the public, a practice bar, a terrace on the same Passeig del Mar, one kitchen where training is given and equipped to develop the techniques required by teachers, one cold preparation areaa demonstration classroom of kitchen, in addition to several spaces for cocktail bar and services for students and customers.
In the coming weeks, the project will be presented to the seven councils involved and the three regional councils that make up the Demarcation of the Chamber, the Provincial Council of Girona and its Tourism Board. Also in the Departments of Business and Work and Education, in addition to the Hospitality Federation of the regions of Girona and the hospitality associations of the three regions of the Demarcation.
