The British actress received an Oscar in 2019 for her role in the comedy “The Favourite”. Despite this, she says she is still paid less than her male colleagues.

The British Oscar winner Olivia Colman (“The Favorite – Intrigue and Madness”) criticized the unequal pay of actresses and actors in Hollywood in an interview on the US broadcaster “CNN”. “I’m very aware that if I were Oliver Colman I would earn a hell of a lot more than I do,” the 50-year-old said on The Amanpour Hour.
Male actors get more money because it used to be said that they were the attraction for the audience. “That hasn’t been true for decades, but they still like to use that as a reason not to pay women as much as their male counterparts,” Colman continued. The actress received an Oscar in 2019 for her role as the ill-tempered Queen Anne in the shrill moral comedy “The Favorite” by the Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos (50).
